1. Do your research

Before you get started, familiarize yourself with the basics of growing cannabis. Help yourself know more about horticulture, proper environment, and what makes marijuana plants happy.

2. Start with good genetics

Choosing which marijuana seeds grow will depend on many things, not least what type of marijuana you actually prefer.

3. Just enough water and nutrients

Do not over water the plants and make sure that it get a good drainage. Introduce the fertilizer concentration to the plant gradually. When adding nutrients to your water, - apply every other watering.

4. Proper humidity and ventilation

When it comes to ventilation, you can never have too much of it. It also helps prevent mold and mildew by removing hot humid air. If proper ventilation is not maintained, the pores of the leaves will become clogged and the leaves will die.

5. Supply the plants with light

Without light, the plants cannot grow. Hang and continue to keep the lights with two inches of the soil and after the plants appear above the ground.

The Two Major Types of Cannabis Plants

All cannabis plants are considered to be Cannabis Sativa L., so scientifically and legally, there is no difference between Indica and Sativa. Plants are classified according to a system dating back hundreds of years. Cannabis can be subdivided into two main subspecies sativa and indica. It is the two major types of cannabis plants which can mix together to create hybrid strains.

Geographical origins

Sativa strains originated in an area around the equator and can be found in countries like Colombia, Thailand, Mexico, and several African Nations while Indica strains originated from a higher altitude and can be found predominantly in countries known for their hash culture such as  Afghanistan, Morocco, Nepal and Turkey. 

Morphology

Indica plants typically grow short and wide, compared to Sativa plants which grow tall and thin.

Effects

Indica is more centered on the body. Its effect is noted for being physically and mentally relaxing. Sativa has a more cerebral-focused effect. Its high may be characterized as cerebral, energetic, or creative.

Sativa strains are ideal for depression, mood disorder and fatigue while Indica strains are ideal for chronic pain, muscle spasms, appetite stimulation, anxiety, nausea, and sleep deprivation.
