All cannabis plants are considered to be Cannabis Sativa L., so scientifically and legally, there is no difference between Indica and Sativa. Plants are classified according to a system dating back hundreds of years. Cannabis can be subdivided into two main subspecies sativa and indica. It is the two major types of cannabis plants which can mix together to create hybrid strains.
Geographical origins
Sativa strains originated in an area around the equator and can be found in countries like Colombia, Thailand, Mexico, and several African Nations while Indica strains originated from a higher altitude and can be found predominantly in countries known for their hash culture such as Afghanistan, Morocco, Nepal and Turkey.
Morphology
Indica plants typically grow short and wide, compared to Sativa plants which grow tall and thin.
Effects
Indica is more centered on the body. Its effect is noted for being physically and mentally relaxing. Sativa has a more cerebral-focused effect. Its high may be characterized as cerebral, energetic, or creative.
Symtom Relief
